Project Overview

Hangar One Avionics delivered an Airbus AS350B3 helicopter to the Hawaii Fire Department, purpose-built for EMS and firefighting operations across the demanding terrain of the Big Island. The aircraft was configured with mission-critical avionics, communication systems, and rescue equipment to support rapid emergency response, patient transport, and aerial firefighting in remote and high-risk environments.

The build includes terrain awareness and radar altimeter systems, dual audio communication control, and multi-band transceiver integration to ensure reliable coordination during critical missions. NVIS-compatible cockpit lighting and a high-performance searchlight system enable effective night operations, while a fully equipped cabin featuring a modular seating and patient handling system supports EMS functionality. Additional enhancements such as cargo hook systems, Bambi bucket provisions, utility basket, and vertical reference window equip the aircraft for firefighting and rescue operations, delivering the versatility, safety, and performance required for life-saving missions.
