Hangar One Avionics partnered with San Diego City Fire to transform a Sikorsky S70i Firehawk into a fully equipped firefighting and rescue platform, built to support critical aerial response operations. The aircraft was outfitted with advanced avionics, integrated communication systems, and mission-specific equipment to enhance situational awareness, coordination, and operational efficiency during high-risk fire and emergency scenarios.
The configuration includes upgraded traffic and ADS-B systems, multi-band communication platforms, satellite connectivity, and wireless intercom capabilities to ensure seamless coordination across teams. Video recording systems and onboard camera integrations provide real-time visibility, while searchlight systems and enhanced lighting support both day and night operations. Equipped with a rescue hoist system, Bambi bucket provisions, and specialized airframe enhancements, the aircraft delivers the performance, reliability, and mission readiness required to support life-saving firefighting efforts.
